FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can kids use the original quip Sonic Electric Toothbrush?

Yes! The differences between the original and the kids plastic brush is a slightly smaller brush head with fewer bristles to make it easier to go tooth by tooth on smaller teeth. It also has a slim handle that's easy to grip. Both brushes are safe for kids and adults, so it really comes down to your personal preference.

What ages is the quip Kids Sonic Electric Toothbrush suitable for?

Kids can start using an electric toothbrush at age 3, with adult supervision recommended until age 8. Individual child preferences and professionals recommendations may apply. Electric toothbrushes have been shown to help disrupt the biofilm, spread paste, and help remove plaque effectively. As a parent, it’s essential to be part of this daily oral care routine, and to provide ongoing instructions and demonstrations as your child is building dexterity and proper brushing habits. Lead by example, and you’ll be one big brushing family in no time.

What are the toothpaste ingredients?

quip anticavity toothpastes use the right amount of fluoride to help keep your mouth healthy and cavity-free. There’s naturally-occuring xylitol to inhibit the growth of cavity-causing bacteria, and silica which is even more gentle on your teeth. Plus, it’s SLS-free (sodium lauryl sulfate). Active ingredient: Sodium Fluoride 0.24% (0.14% w/v fluoride ion). Inactive ingredients: Water, Sorbitol, Hydrated Silica, Glycerin, Xylitol, Flavor, Cellulose Gum, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Sodium Saccharin, Carrageenan, Titanium Dioxide, Hydrogen Peroxide, Menthol.

How much toothpaste should my child use?

The American Dental Association recommends using a smear of toothpaste (no larger than a grain of rice) for kids ages 2 and under, and a pea-sized amount for ages 3 and older.

How do I get my brush to glow?

For an hour long glow, expose your brush handle (and cover) to 10 mins of natural light, and 20 mins of artificial light. Then, brush in the dark!

Are sonic toothbrushes good for kids?

Yes, sonic toothbrushes, like quip’s Kids Glow in the Dark Sonic Toothbrush, are a great choice for children. The gentle sonic vibrations effectively clean teeth and gums without being harsh, making them safe for young mouths. This toothbrush features a smaller brush head with soft bristles, designed specifically for kids, and includes a built-in timer to encourage proper brushing habits. The fun glow-in-the-dark handle adds excitement to brushing, helping kids stay engaged with their oral care routine.

Do dentists recommend vibrating toothbrushes for kids?

Yes, dentists often recommend vibrating toothbrushes, like quip’s Kids Glow in the Dark Sonic Toothbrush, for children. The gentle vibrations help effectively remove plaque while being safe for young teeth and gums. With features like a smaller brush head, soft bristles, and a built-in timer, this toothbrush supports dentist-recommended brushing habits. The glow-in-the-dark handle adds a fun element, making kids more excited to brush regularly and correctly.

Simple but perfect kids electric toothbrush

Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this toothbrush. My seven year old has been using an electric toothbrush for several years, but always complains that its to hard and makes her nose tickle. The quip brush is her new favorite. First off, the simple sleek design and how little space it takes up. We are loving the holder that attaches to the mirror. The soft sonic vibrations are fantastic, my daughter loves brushing her teeth with this. No longer complains of the aggressive vibrations and tickle on her nose. She loves the timer and it helps us keep her accountable for doing the full two minutes. I cannot wait to take this when we travel. As its smaller and less bulky than other brands, it will be easy to pack. Huge hit and she is once again more motivated to brush her teeth.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great toothbrush

This little toothbrush was a fun surprise! It is not too wide to hold and a little chunkier than a pencil so it was easy for my 9 year old to hold it. There was a battery already in the toothbrush so it was all ready to go when we pressed the button! The packaging looks very premium and unlike anything we see at the store. Instead of a round brush that oscillates, it basically vibrates while he brushes his teeth. So he does have to brush back and forth, up and down, etc. I told him that it will have a little buzzer for 30 seconds for each quadrant of his mouth and he thought that was cool haha! It also has a little sticky side that you can stick the toothbrush onto any surface in the bathroom! But he liked just putting the toothbrush back in the stand holder! This is a great toothbrush and the replacement heads are also a reasonable price when it needs to be replaced. What I like the best about this toothbrush is that it’s the perfect size for his mouth and hands and has the timer that helps keep track of how long to brush. He says his clean feel very clean after brushing as well. Great toothbrush! I received this product through the Stellar product testing panel!

my daughter loves it

Brushing teeth has always been a little bit of a struggle for my daughter. Whether it was not brushing long enough or making a giant mess with the toothpaste: it was a mini battle every day. Quip changed that. The timer: yay! She was empowered by the timer to take her time knowing it would tell her when she was done. The wall/mirror holder: amazing for keeping the sink area clear! And not only do I as her mother love it but so does she: it’s soft, colorful, and novel because it’s her first electric toothbrush that makes her feel grown up. Win for everyone! Love this toothbrush!! *Received this toothbrush as a part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel

Simple yet effective kids electric toothbrush

At first, I wasn’t too impressed with the design to entice my child to brush. It isn’t very colorful and has more of a sleek adult look. My 7-year-old was impressed by the 2-minute brushing routine and that it would alert her every 30 seconds. She has been brushing more and longer than she didn’t with either a manual or other electric tooth brushes. What I like most about the toothbrush is that my daughter is brushing seemingly longer because the 2-minute timed feature gives her a goal. I like the plastic case it comes with and that seems durable. The wall stick feature took some trial and error to find a surface it holds on to best in the bathroom. I’m not expecting the stickiness to last as long as the toothbrush does. I would recommend the product to try! Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this toothbrush.

Quip has my 5 Year Old WANTING to Brush Her Teeth

I received this toothbrush from the Stellar Product Testing Panel and am happy to say my 5 year old has a newfound love of brushing her teeth and is even independently brushing on her own and proactively asking to brush at night, which she wasn't doing before. The quip Kids Sonic Battery toothbrush has a power button that when pressed initiates the sonic pulsing for 2-minutes. This has helped my child to brush for longer, as she keeps going until the pulsing stops. It also comes in various colors and is ultra modern looking with a sleek design, as well as a handy cover that makes traveling or storing the toothbrush super easy. Of the multitude of varieties of toothbrushes (including other electric types), this one is hands-down my child's favorite, keeps her engaged, and has her wanting to brush her teeth more and on her own. I would 10/10 recommend! All-in-all, this is a keeper!

Effective Toothbrush For Kids

The Quip Kids Sonic Toothbrush has been a game-changer for my daughter! It’s super easy for her to use, and she absolutely loves being able to attach it to her bathroom mirror—it saves space on her small countertop, which is a big plus. I love that. I don’t have to plug it in since it’s operated by batteries. Her favorite feature is the two-minute timer, which helps her know exactly how long to brush her teeth. This was definitely something missing from her routine before, and it’s made such a difference. I’m so impressed by the timer alone that I’m planning to get one for my younger son as well! Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Paneling for sending us this toothbrush to test out!

Game Changing the Tooth Game

The quip Kids Sonic Toothbrush was a complete game changer for getting my 3 year old to brush his teeth. The gum bristles help get that hard to reach plaque he always has building up at the top of his teeth without the pain the bristles caused him. The automatic timer has been life changing, no more fighting the amount of length he needs to brush on each side; it will gently vibrate to tell him to switch sides. We have gone to fighting brushing teeth to him running to the bathroom when we say to brush them and he wants to do it all on his own. The toothbrush is sleek and is easy to hold in little hands. The button to turn on the sonic vibration does take him a little bit to push down, however it makes it so it doesn’t randomly turn on. The self adhesive mirror is so great, it helps give you more counter space and keeps it nice and clean. Thanks to Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this toothbrush.

Easy and fun to use

My daughter has the quip kids sonic battery toothbrush in yellow. It comes in a dome plastic travel case that screws closed. The base that holds toothbrush can be attach to a mirror or tile because it has a sticky adhesive strip on the back that sticks easily and effectively. The toothbrush fits perfectly snug into the base holder. As for the toothbrush, it is lightweight with sturdy brissels that are firm enough to prevent extreme fraying, but are soft enough to be gentle on gums and teeth. My daughter said that the vibrations were pretty strong but she felt that it cleaned her teeth very well. The toothbrush takes one AA battery, which is so easy to replace. The brush heads are disposable, but they seem so durable to last a long time. To turn on the toothbrush, push the symbol button at the bottom of the white disposable head. It starts vibrating for two minutes with 30 second pulses. The pulses every 30 seconds help remind the children to move their toothbrush around in different parts of their mouth. This works very well with my daughter who usually keeps her toothbrush in one place in her mouth. The horses get her attention to brush all her teeth effectively. I’m glad there’s finally a toothbrush that helps teach my children the right way of brushing their teeth for good hygiene. I was given this toothbrush as part of the stellar product testing panel for our honest review. Looks like we will have to buy another toothbrush for my son who is jealous of my daughter. We definitely recommend the quip kids sonic battery, toothbrush.
