On 2/2, we’re marking 11 years of brushing 2 minutes, 2x a day, keeping millions of mouths healthy and feeling good.
How it all started
It all began in Brooklyn, NYC, in 2015, in a dentist’s chair. Inspired by a simple piece of advice — to use an electric toothbrush — our co-founders noticed a gap in the market: where was the entry-level, accessible electric brush?
Armed with industrial design experience, they created the OG quip Sonic Toothbrush. Slim, travel-friendly, and made to clean better without having to change how you brush, it was simple and effective. No charging stands, no clutter, no scare tactics — just a reusable electric brush you actually want to use with a subscription plan that takes the guesswork out of refills on a dentist-approved schedule.
Today: Launches, wins, and milestones
From that first brush, over 12 million mouths have joined the quip family. We built a holistic oral care routine for everyone, including our award-winning Ultra Smart Sonic Toothbrush, the Rev Oscillating Toothbrush, String Floss and Water Flosser, Whitening Strips, and so much more, with even more coming in 2026!
Each product stays true to our philosophy: thoughtful design your mouth will love, efficacy, and a feel-good routine that meets you right where you are.
Along the way, we’ve also earned recognition for design and innovation, including multiple “best electric toothbrush” awards. Recent launches like Rev and Ultra have raised the bar even higher, combining minimalist design and intuitive function with industry-leading efficacy.
